Day 2: Wednesday 19th August
We spend the day exploring Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland and recently voted the friendliest city in Europe.
As our walking tour reveals, there's seemingly no end to the attractions this city has to offer, from architectural gems such as Dublin Castle and Trinity College (the oldest university in Ireland), to the Guinness Storehouse, and a chance to enjoy a pint of the legendary 'black stuff' in the Gravity Bar, which offers a panoramic view of the city. At night, we can wander in the Temple Bar area with its narrow, cobbled streets and enjoy the world famous hospitality that's to be found in the many bars, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs.

Day 3: Thursday 20th August
Dublin to Killarney
Today we travel from Dublin through the beautifully lush Irish countryside to historic and picturesque Killarney, situated deep in the heart of south-western Ireland. This is a popular and thriving cultural centre where the sounds of music and laughter can be heard filling the air, seven days a week.

We recommend a leisurely horse-drawn 'jaunting car' ride which takes in the delights of the beautiful, 26,000 acre Killarney National Parkland and Lakes.

Day 5: Saturday 22nd August
Today is a full day spent touring the 'Ring of Kerry', a 170km (106 mile) circular scenic route through south-western Ireland.
Beginning in Killarney, our journey takes us via the Iveragh Peninsula (the largest in south-west Ireland), to Ross Castle (the ancestral home of the O'Donoghue clan) and then to Killarney National Park, the oldest in Ireland. This fine series of locations demonstrates just how delightful a combination nature, history and human endeavour can be.
Breakfast Included. Overnight in Killarney

Day 6: Sunday 23rd August
Today we have the option to join a full day excursion to Blarney Castle and Cork.
Blarney Castle is a medieval architectural delight dating back to the year 1200 AD. It was destroyed in 1446 and subsequently rebuilt by the then King of Munster. At the top of the castle is the world-famous Stone of Eloquence, better known as the 'Blarney Stone', which supposedly grants the gift of eloquence to anyone who kisses its stone surface upside-down! Cork is the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland and is home to memorable features such as the beautiful Shandon Steeple and St Mary's and St Finbarre's Cathedral. Cork, making its unique atmosphere and thriving townscape an essential feature on any trip to Ireland.

Killarney and nearby Kerry are blessed with some exceptional natural features, including the popular Muckross Gardens, the unique grounds of Dunloe Castle Hotel and the beautiful Italian Garden on Garnish Island, near Glengarrif.
