From snowy Sierra mountains to dense, green South Eastern jungles and across formidable North Western deserts, Mexico is a diverse, unique and fascinating travel destination. This wonderful Socialeyes Mexican experience is based on the stunning Riviera Maya, the sub-tropical coastline where the native Mayan civilization thrived between 250 and 900 A.D., making this the site of some of their most significant scientific and artistic achievements and some of their greatest cities. These unique historical features share this beautiful landscape with natural marine life and conservation parkland which straddles a series of spectacular lagoons, crystal-clear rivers and fine white sandy beaches.

    Day 2: Tuesday 19th May
    Tulum Archaeological Ruins tour
Our Mexican adventure begins with a fascinating half day excursion to the Mayan remains at Tulum.
This includes a guided tour of the ancient site followed by some free time afterwards to indulge in personal exploration and acclimatisation to the sunshine and the mysteries of Mexico's rich historic heritage. The rest of the day is free to spend at leisure.

Tulum was one of the last inhabited Mayan cities and flourished between the 13th and 15th centuries. Remarkably, it even survived for some 70 years after the Spanish seizure and occupation of Mexico. Tulum's archaeological site is relatively compact and is among the best preserved compared to many other settlements in the vicinity. Its proximity to modern developments along Mexico's Caribbean coastline (such as Cancún), has made it one of the most popular of all Mayan sites in the Yucatan region and Mexico's third most-visited archaeological site, after Teotihuacan and Chichen Itza.
This location is also the captivating breeding ground of giant sea turtles. These ancient sea creatures lay their eggs annually across the Riviera Maya coastline, furthering the enchanting atmosphere of Tulum.

    Day 4: Thursday 21st May
    A free day
Activities to augment the irresistible Mexican sunshine include daily catamaran tours and boogie boarding.

A further option is to visit the nearby resort of Playa Del Carmen which began as a small fishing town on the Riviera Maya coastline, which extends south from Cancún to Tulum. Less affected by mass tourism than resorts such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen nonetheless offers many interesting shops, colourful bars and fine restaurants along its very own version of Fifth Avenue, which is attractively imbued with a relaxed and distinctly European atmosphere.

Along the coastline, there is also the opportunity to try your hand at horseback riding. Begin the journey along the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Caribbean coast, then venture into the exotic ancient Mayan jungle to explore the sights and sounds of the local flora and fauna.
All meals included. Overnight in Dublin

    Day 5: Friday 22nd May
    Optional Excursion to Chichen Itza
Today features an option to take a full day excursion to Chichen Itza, one of Mexico's most celebrated historic cultural attractions. This Pre-Colombian Mayan city is believed to have been one of the mythical 'Tollans' (or 'great cities') which are intriguingly referred to in later central American literature. It's possible that this particular settlement may have featured the most diverse population of any in the Mayan world, judging by the variety of architectural styles to be found here.
All meals included. Overnight in Dublin

    Day 6: Saturday 23rd May
    A free day
Today is free to indulge your own particular tastes and interests.
One optional is a full day catamaran trip to the Isla Mujaras, ('Island of Women)' which lies eight miles across the bay from Cancun. Some parts of the island feature beautiful white sandy beaches whilst others present a powerful, rocky and windswept face toward the open sea. Pirates once hid their treasure on this island, which today offers a perfect blend of attractive fishing village ambience, great cycling opportunities in the Southern part, and of course fabulous tropical beaches.
All meals included. Overnight in Dublin

    Day 7: Sunday 24th May
Optional Excursion to Swim with Dolphins
Today brings a memorable invitation to enter the aquatic world and to swim alongside Dolphins, Manatees and even Sting Rays!
All meals included. Overnight in Dublin

    Day 8: Monday 25th May
    Coba Archaeological tour
Today we journey on a half day excursion to the ancient archaeological ruins at Coba. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing at individual leisure.
Coba was a large Pre-Columbian city of the Maya civilization located in the state of Quintana Roo. The site contains several large temple pyramids, the tallest of these being known as the 'Nohoch Mul' group of structures which, at a height of 42 metres, is the tallest pyramid on the entire Yucatán peninsula. It's estimated that Coba once housed some 50,000 inhabitants in a built area which once extended over an area of 80 square kilometres and its significance has led to it becoming a major Mexican attraction both nationally and internationally. The Ancient Pyramid, unlike Chichen Itza's Kukulkan Pyramid, still offers visitors the opportunity to climb the 120 steps to its summit.

As part of our tour we'll be visiting a small Mayan family house for a fascinating insight into how these proud, indigenous people live today, together with a chance to sample a delicious traditional, homemade chicken taco and peruse a range of handmade craft souvenirs.
All meals included. Overnight in Dublin

    Day 9: Tuesday 26th May
An optional Excursion to a Riviera Maya Ecological Park
This full day adventure tour includes opportunities for snorkelling, zip-wire activity and kayaking. A combination of geological and climate factors have here created a remarkable and unique ecosystem where a network of caves and underground rivers were created by the extraordinary processes of nature some 6,500 years ago. Mexico's Eco-Parks offer a diverse range of activities amid a jungle and a subterranean world which the ancient Mayans regarded as sacred. One particularly unforgettable experience here is to descend on a high suspended zip-line over the Sacred Lake, flanked by spectacular surroundings. There are also opportunities for kayaking or snorkelling in the unique cenotes.
All meals included. Overnight in Dublin

    Day 10: Wednesday 27th May
